Remove beading
Remove and dispose of all staff and parting beads
Remove cords
Cut, remove and dispose of the sash cords
Replace the pulley wheels
Remove the pulley wheels and replace them with new ones
Pack out
If necessary, add strips of timber to the sash to ensure a snug fit
Plane
Use a planer to reduce the width of the sash if necessary
Groove
Create a channel and insert the new draught seal
Reassemble
Put everything back together, ensuring smooth operation and tight draught seal
Counterbalance
If necessary add or remove lead weights to balance the sash
Fit beading
Fit new staff and parting beads with new draught seals
Touch up
Clean and paint over any damaged areas
Clean up
Pick up any rubbish and leave the property as found
